Policy Dialogues for Racial Justice and Health Equity

Dr. Cacari Stone, PhD, Professor of Health Policy, TREE Center Director & WEAVE NM Co-PI will provide a framing overview of "envisioning equity in policy during the COVID- 19 pandemic."

The keynote speaker is Dr. Chandra L. Ford, PhD, MPH, MLIS, Professor of Community Health Sciences, Founding Director of the Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice and Health in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and lead editor of Racism: Science & Tools for the Public Health Professional.

With the goal of democratizing knowledge for policy change and racial healing, participants will engage in dialogues that are anchored in digital stories and written briefs led by 6 community partnership teams in New Mexico:

  1. Closing the broadband digital divide in border communities

  2. Advancing disability rights through housing equity

  3. Latinx suicide prevention

  4. Grandparents raising grandchildren during the opioid epidemic

  5. Tribal health in all policies

  6. Asian American racial equity & healing
