New Mexico Rural Library Initiative
Friday, September 25th at noon
via Zoom
This presentation will contextualize the vital role public libraries play in supporting the health of New Mexico’s rural and frontier communities. Across the state, libraries serve as a community space for people of all ages and provide essential access to books, information, and internet service.
Beyond basic library services, many rural libraries operate as health spaces facilitating initiatives such as food distribution, exercise classes, workshops covering legal issues of death/dying, and more.
The presenters aim to educate public health stakeholders on the untapped potential of the public library as existing local infrastructure.
