Valeria Alarcón, BS

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Valeria Alarcón is a visionary leader and catalyst with over 25 years of experience driving impact across the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. With a career rooted in advocacy, systems collaboration, and strategic innovation, Valeria has dedicated her life to building thriving communities—locally and globally. Her expertise lies in leading high-level organizational strategy, fostering cross-sector partnerships for collective impact, and improving health and quality of life.

As a Latina—woman of color and a 13 year cancer thriver, Valeria’s lived experience has deeply shaped her purpose and life's mission. Thriving in the face of adversity has not only defined her personal journey but also fueled her lifelong commitment to building effective systems of change.

In 2009, Valeria founded VIA Consulting LLC, a strategic consultancy that drives innovative strategies into solution-driven approaches. Her clients span a broad spectrum—from international NGOs and foundations to social entrepreneurs, municipalities, and nonprofit sector—each engaged in transformational work for improving conditions for health and wellbeing.

Valeria's visionary leadership, strategic direction, and collaborative spirit continue to be instrumental in informing public policy and strengthening local community leadership throughout New Mexico, County & Tribal Health Councils. Valeria’s dedication to cultivating leadership from within and building bridges across sectors will remain critical to the success of any collective endeavor toward a more just and healthy future for all.

Valeria holds a B.S. in Organizational Psychology from the College of Santa Fe, and certifications in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell University and Integrative Nutrition from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York.
