Mental Health First Aid - Adults Assisting Adults - Carlsbad
Join us at Cities of Gold in the banquet room @10 Cities of Gold Road, Pojoaque, New Mexico, 87506 on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (MT) for an 8-hour in person training that offers participants the opportunity to learn how to identify, understand, and respond to others who may be developing and/or experiencing a mental health, behavioral health, and/or substance use concern.
The course teaches participants a 5-step action plan that can be used to assist someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations by:
• Recognizing common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.
• Understanding how to interact with a person in crisis.
• Encouraging people to engage in self-care tools and techniques.
• Learning how to connect a person with support.
• Creating a supportive community together!
This Mental Health First Aid training is being offered in collaboration between the New Mexico Coalition for Suicide Prevention and Awareness, the New Mexico Peer Coalition, Presbyterian Health Plan, and Southeast New Mexico College.
