This New Mexico nonprofit is dedicated to raising awareness and improving timely detection of congenital heart defects (CHD)—the most common birth defect, affecting nearly 1 in every 100 newborns. CHD remains a leading cause of infant mortality from birth defects, yet timely detection can be lifesaving.

We are currently collaborating with the New Mexico Department of Health Newborn Screening Department on the Watch Their Hearts Initiative, which focuses on increasing CHD awareness among expecting and new parents while supporting providers with updated education and resources. Our goal is to ensure families and healthcare teams recognize CHD warning signs early and understand the importance of timely screening and diagnosis.
