Gerilyn Antonio, MPH

TRIBAL LIAISON

Gerilyn Antonio, MPH, (Diné/Navajo) is a Tribal Liaison at the New Mexico Alliance of Health Councils, and is originally from Low Mountain, Arizona. Her clans are Naaneesht'ézhi Táchii'nii (Charcoal Streaked Division of the Red Running Into the Water Clan) born for the Tó baazhni'ázhi (Two Who Came to Water Clan), her maternal grandfather is Tł'ááshchí'í (Red Bottom People Clan), and her paternal grandfather is 'Áshįįhi (Salt People Clan). Gerilyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies with a minor in Community Health at the University of New Mexico and completed her Masters in Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Health Education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces in 2021.

For over 5 years, she has worked on community based programming and capacity building with New Mexico's Tribes, Pueblos, and Nations. Gerilyn has focused on strengthening tribal public health systems to improve the health and well-being of tribal members through the Alliance and statewide partnerships. Her focus areas of technical assistance and support services include tribal public health authority, infrastructure and operations, workforce development, data and information systems, resources and communications, and partnerships. Gerilyn is an Indigenous public health professional who is deeply committed to serving, supporting, and advocating for Tribal communities.
